ART JAKARTA ENCOURAGES FINE ARTS EXHIBITIONS TO BECOME ECONOMIC WHEEL

DEPUTY Minister of Creative Economy, Irene Umar, attended the opening of ART Jakarta Gardens 2025 in the City Forest by Plataran, Jakarta, Tuesday (04/22), 2025. Fine art exhibitions with open air backgrounds in the City Forest by Plataran received a positive response from artists, collectors and stakeholders.

In her remarks, Irene Umar said that the existence of ART Jakarta Gardens with a choice of locations in the city forest by Plataran could bring a new freshness to activists and connoisseurs of art and be able to bring us closer to historical values, natural sustainability and cultural diversity.

“On this occasion, I expressed his appreciation and gratitude to all art activists, galleries, partnership who supported this activity and participated in opening the space for activities to work together and work. To create Asta Ekraf, we from the Creative Economy Ministry supported and expect ART Jakarta Gardens to always be an annual activity and increasingly open space for art activists or galleries to be active and continue to collaborate,” Irene said in her remarks.

Art Jakarta Gardens is an art exhibition that has entered its fourth year. In its implementation, this activity aims to provide breakthroughs and innovations. In its inaugural performance in 2022, ART Jakarta Gardens brought a new freshness amidst the emptiness of fine arts in the period of social restrictions in pandemic. A positive reception from artists, collectors, and stakeholders of other art ecosystems encouraged ART Jakarta Gardens to return this year.

Irene Umar hoped that this kind of art festival would be able to increase the turnover of the national economy, so that the art festival in Indonesia would be upscale and not inferior to similar festivals in other countries.

“At ART Jakarta Gardens 2025, which was held in the city forest of Plataran, we could see a cool ART. People may not know much that there is such a good place in the heart of Jakarta city. Hopefully, of course, so that more people know about the existence of this place,” Irene affirmed.

By organizing this event, he continued, each artist shows his work to outsiders. And for Indonesian artists who are scattered from Sabang to Merauke, this is a gathering place so that people can see who Indonesian artists are.

Art Jakarta Gardens 2025, held from April 22 to 27, became a venue for art by creating indoor and outdoor contexts. Fine art is displayed in two special tents built for urban forest sites and along the statue park that stretches in a beautiful tropical landscape in the heart of Jakarta. [traveltext.id]
