THE BALI tourism industry is experiencing anomalies. Although thousands of foreign and domestic tourists enter Bali every day, the fact is that hotels on the Island of the Gods are still quiet. Bali tourism accommodation occupancy is currently down after the 2025 Lebaran (Idul Fitr) holiday is completed.

The lonely issue of tourism accommodation is increasingly burst and becomes the consumption of citizens on social media. This condition apparently received the attention of the Bali Tourism Office.

According to the head of the Bali Tourism Office, Tjok Bagus Pemayun said he would schedule a meeting with the ranks of the Tourism Office in the Regency/City and Association. This meeting is to examine the facts of the issue of many foreign tourists in Bali that are not in accordance with the occupancy of the hotel.

“From the Ministry of Tourism to see this trend is crowded, but the hotel is quiet because there is a message. Meetings with the Regency/City Tourism Office and the association will be held on Monday (4/28),” said Tjok Bagus Pemayun.

According to him, the parties involved in the meeting will compare the conditions in the field with data from BPS Bali and Bank Indonesia version. The Bali Department of Tourism will also find out according to the data, including seeing the conditions on the ground.

“If it is true that many tourists, but the hotel is quiet, the tourism will find out since when this condition occurs. We will learn more, so we will discuss it first. I want to speak based on data, if there is information that many tourists are staying in homestays or illegal villas, it must be verified with data,” he said.

He explained, even I did not believe in the low news of tourist accommodation in Bali when many foreign tourists came. Moreover, the Indonesian Hotel General Manager Association (IHGMA) reports the conditions that are fine, with the occupancy of the hotel that is not lame with foreign tourist visits.

“IHGMA said that yesterday it was quite a level of residential,” Tjok Bagus Pemayun concluded. [sources/photo special]
