INDONESIA through the Ministry of Tourism is ready to attract more foreign tourists to visit the country through the largest international tourism exhibition in the Middle East “Arabian Travel Market (ATM) Dubai 2025”, which will be held at the Dubai World Trade Center, from April 28 to May 1, 2025.
According to the Deputy for Marketing, Ministry of Tourism, Ni Made Ayu Marthini, in her statement in Jakarta, Sunday (04/27), 2025 explained that through ATM Dubai 2025, Indonesia is trying to promote tourism destinations by increasing brand awareness of Wonderful Indonesia in line with current trends.
“Aside from general promotion, tourism exchanges such as ATM Dubai are very helpful for both the tourism industry and the government in showcasing outstanding destinations in each region,” Made said.
The largest international tourism fair in the Middle East has been running for 30 years. ATM Dubai 2025 is expected to attract more than 47,000 visitors and feature around 2,700 exhibitors from 161 countries.
Made emphasized that Indonesia’s presence at ATM Dubai 2025 is an important effort to maintain Indonesia’s existence as a leading destination in the international world, especially in the Middle East.
Last year, the number of tourists from the Middle East visiting Indonesia reached 224 thousand visits or an increase of 24% from the previous year, so this positive growth is a potential that needs to be continuously developed in the future.
“The target for foreign tourist visits in 2025 is 14 to 16 million foreign tourists, of which 249 thousand are targeted tourists from the Middle East. This figure has increased by 6.4% from last year, so acceleration steps and more intensive promotional activities are needed to support the achievement of this target, of course one of the efforts is through the participation of the Ministry of Tourism and the Indonesian tourism industry in ATM Dubai this year,” Made affirmed.
With the main theme of “Experiential Tourism” and product focus covering gastronomy, marine and wellness, the Wonderful Indonesia Pavilion will facilitate 20 tourism industries as co-exhibitors consisting of TA/TO, DMC/DMO, Hotel/Resort and Tourist Attractions located in Hall 7 No. AS 8558 – AS 8558A, DWTC.
The Jakarta Provincial Tourism and Creative Economy Office and the Indonesia Inbound Tour Operators Association (IINTOA) also cooperated in this prestigious exchange by opening space to facilitate 15 delegations from Jakarta tourism industry and 26 delegations from IINTOA member tourism industry.
Meanwhile, the Assistant Deputy for Foreign Tourism Marketing III of the Ministry of Tourism, Raden Wisnu Sindhutrisno, added that the cooperation with stakeholder partners in participating in this international tourism exchange is expected to maximize promotional activities that demonstrate the competitiveness of Indonesia’s tourism and creative industries on a global scale.
“Through business meetings between sellers and buyers arranged in a pre-scheduled appointment system, it is hoped that the target of participation in this exhibition of 44 thousand potential pax can be achieved,” Wisnu underlined.
Wisnu hopes that the Arabian Travel Mart Dubai will have a positive impact on increasing the number of foreign tourists, especially for the Middle East market. Thus, it can support the overall achievement of the goal, while promoting Indonesia’s economic recovery after the pandemic.
“In addition, as an effort to increase the visits of Middle Eastern tourists, the Ministry of Tourism will also sign a cooperation agreement with Qatar Airways. The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for cooperation between the Ministry of Tourism and Qatar Airways will be signed on April 28, 2025, on the first day of the Arabian Travel Market (ATM) Dubai 2025,” he concluded.
