TERMINAL 1F OF SOETTA AIRPORT TO BE DEDICATED TO LOW-COST AIRLINES IN 2026

TERMINAL 1F of Soekarno-Hatta Airport (Soetta Airport), Cengkareng is undergoing revitalization. One of them is to increase passenger capacity to be more because this terminal will be specially for low-cost flights or low-cost carriers (LCC).

“So later the low-cost (in) 1F. God willing, Mr. President, if it’s okay, we will inaugurate it in the first quarter of 2026,” said Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs), Erick Thohir at the inauguration of the Special Hajj and Umrah Terminal 2F of Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, Tangerang, Banten on Sunday (05/04), 2025.

Erick explained that with this revitalization, the total passenger capacity of Soetta Airport will increase per year. In line with what was explained earlier by Danantara, we will promote an increase in capacity to reach 94 million in the future.

In addition to Terminal 1F, the airport is also making improvements to Terminal 2F, which is specially designated as the Umrah and Hajj Terminal. The special terminal was inaugurated by President Prabowo Subianto, Sunday (05/4).

“A mosque for 3,000 is over square meters, a manasik place is available, halal products, halal food are available, all lounges are available, and most importantly, Mr. President, we have also implemented public transportation that connects between the airport and the city, both by buses and trains,” said Erick.

Earlier, the President Director of InJourney Airports, Faik Fahmi also opened the possibility of adapting the terminal for LCC airlines as at Soetta Airport will also be carried out in other places.

“Yes, for other airports. Yes, we will arrange everything later. This is the one in Soekarno-Hatta. So the full service will be in Terminal 3. Then (terminal) 2F is specifically for the Umrah terminal. Currently, InJourney is preparing all the details, including the revitalization to move all the LCC airlines to Terminal 1,” Faik concluded.
