According to Tansita Akraritirom, the Head of Commercial at Thai AirAsia, said Phuket has become an iconic island famous as a tourist paradise and a favorite destination for tourists from around the world. Since opening orders for the Medan–Phuket route, his team has seen high interest from tourists in both cities. The short travel time and comfortable flight schedule make this route ideal for weekend getaways.
“In just one hour, tourists can enjoy a variety of attractions in Phuket, including water sports, beaches, night markets, and delicious seafood, with four flights per week,” she said in a media briefing in Medan on Thursday, May 22, 2025.
Tansita added that Phuket is also a great destination for Muslim tourists, making it suitable for families, couples, and solo travelers. “We believe this new route will be an attractive choice for Medan residents and those in the surrounding area who want to enjoy an exciting vacation,” she concluded.
