THERE is a need to integrate tourism and health service facilities to support the development of thematic tourism services.
According to Ni Luh Puspa, the Deputy Minister of Tourism, said integration of health and tourism facilities is needed as one of the expected quick wins.
She suggested that each region establish a business entity or agency to coordinate the implementation of tourism and health services, as well as propose supporting policies to the central government.
Developing health tourism services is expected to improve the quality of public services and spur economic growth.
The domestic pharmaceutical, herbal, and medical device industries are expected to grow, providing more jobs alongside the development of the health tourism industry.
Meanwhile, Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Development, Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono, said one of the infrastructure projects offered at the 2025 Infrastructure Conference (ICI) is a tourism infrastructure project.
This project includes plans to provide urban transportation facilities and modernize bus terminals. [antaranews]
