THROUGHOUT January–June 2025, PT AirAsia Indonesia Tbk recorded an increase in revenue. Nevertheless, the airline issuer posted a loss of IDR787.71 billion in the first half of 2025.
According to the company’s financial statements, AirAsia recorded an income of IDR3.97 trillion in the first half of 2025. This represents a 5.15% year-on-year increase from IDR3.78 trillion in the same period in 2024.
The largest source of AirAsia revenue is flight operations, which recorded an income of IDR3.23 trillion in the first half of 2025. This figure increased by 3.70% year over year (YoY) from IDR3.11 trillion in the same period in 2024.
Additionally, the ancillary segment contributed to AirAsia’s revenue, earning IDR743.16 billion in the first half of 2025. This figure is up 11.95% year over year (YoY) from IDR663.80 billion in the first half of 2024.
Despite the revenue growth, the company’s operating expenses increased slightly. AirAsia recorded business expenses of IDR4.50 trillion in the first half of 2025, down from IDR4.46 trillion in the same period in 2024.
The company reduced operating expenses in several segments. For example, fuel operating expenses dropped 11.02% year over year (YoY) from IDR1.77 trillion to IDR1.58 trillion in the first half of 2025.
However, business expenses for AirAsia’s repair and maintenance actually increased 55.76% year over year (YoY) to IDR1.19 trillion in the first half of 2025, compared to IDR770 billion in the same period in 2024.
Salary and benefit expenses rose to IDR356.25 billion in the first half of 2025, up from IDR337.13 billion in the same period of 2024. Marketing expenses rose to IDR261.69 billion, up from IDR163.31 billion in the period ending June 2024.
After deducting various taxes and income expenses, AirAsia recorded a net loss of IDR787.71 billion in the first half of 2025. AirAsia’s annual net loss shrank 39.22%, from IDR1.29 trillion in the same period in 2024. The loss record was IDR73.72 per share, down from IDR121.29 per share in the first half of 2024.
Additionally, AirAsia recorded assets of IDR5.60 trillion in June 2025, down from IDR5.71 trillion in December 2024. The decline in CMPP assets was primarily due to a decrease in non-current assets, which fell from IDR5.28 trillion in December 2024 to IDR4.92 trillion in June 2025.
The CMPP recorded liabilities of IDR15.82 trillion in June 2025. This figure increased by 4.46% during the current year, rising from IDR15.15 trillion in December 2024 to IDR15.82 trillion in June 2025. The increase in the company’s liabilities primarily occurred after short-term liabilities increased to Rp10.71 trillion in June 2025, up from IDR9.12 trillion in December 2024.
