THE SINGAPOREAN airline officially ceased operations on July 31, 2025. The last flight was carried out on July 31, 2025. According to information shared by Jetstar Asia on its official Instagram account, the final flight was carried out as a gesture of gratitude to loyal customers.
“These are some of our team members on the last flight on July 31st. It is our sincere expression of gratitude for the last time. Thank you for flying with Jetstar Asia,” the post on the @jetstarasia account read on Friday, August 1, 2025.
However, the Jetstar Group has confirmed that the termination of operations is limited to Jetstar Asia, while Jetstar Airways (JQ) and Jetstar Japan (GK) will continue to operate as usual.
Meanwhile, Channel News Asia’s coverage of the final Jetstar Asia flight was aimed at the final Kuala Lumpur flight, 3K685.
Jetstar Asia CEO John Simeone ensured that most workers affected by the closure of Jetstar Asia had received job offers from the Jetstar group and other airlines.
“Of the approximately 900 job applications submitted by Jetstar Asia employees affected by the airline’s closing, 54 percent have received a job offer or interview,” the report said.
He added that some affected employees had received job offers in airport lounges or the tourism sector. [sources/photo special]
