PELITA AIR brought an Airbus A320 aircraft with the registration code PK-PWO. The presence of the 14th aircraft was strategically positioned to provide vital support for flight operations to 17 key destination cities. These cities include Banda Aceh, Medan, Pekanbaru, Padang, Palembang, Jakarta, Yogyakarta, Surabaya, Denpasar, Lombok, Pontianak, Banjarmasin, Balikpapan, Makassar, Kendari, Ambon, and Sorong.
According to Dendy Kurniawan, President Director of Pelita Air, has stated that the addition of this aircraft is part of the company’s long-term strategy to address the increasing mobility needs of Indonesian people.
“The addition of this fleet is a tangible manifestation of our commitment to supporting inter-regional air connectivity. With the increasing number of aircraft, we are optimistic that we can provide broader and reliable services for customers,” Dendy said in an official statement on Thursday (8/07), 2025.
He added that in addition to increasing service capacity, this fleet growth also encourages operational efficiency and route development. One of the strategic expansion initiatives currently under development is the introduction of the Jakarta-Singapore-Jakarta international route, scheduled to commence on August 18, 2025. This initiative is part of a comprehensive strategy to expand our international reach and respond to market demands.
“The Airbus A320 aircraft was selected due to its proven fuel efficiency, ergonomic cabin design, and optimal 180-seat capacity for short-to-medium-distance routes. All units are equipped with modern features designed to provide maximum comfort for passengers during the trip,” Dendy affirmed.
In line with this commitment, Pelita Air has consistently introduced service innovations on its aircraft. One of these options is the Pasflix application, an entertainment platform that can be accessed directly from private devices through the cabin’s free Wi-Fi network. Passengers can enjoy a variety of interesting content, including movies, serials, and interactive features such as on-board chat.
In addition, Pelita Air pioneered the introduction of in-flight dining services, enabling passengers to order select warm dishes prior to departure. Meanwhile, as part of the medium service standard, all passengers are still provided with complimentary soft bread to ensure a pleasant journey. [kontan.co.id]
