PT ANGKASA Pura Indonesia (InJourney Airports) welcomes the designation of 36 Indonesian airports as international airports, as stipulated in Minister of Transportation Decree No. KM 37 of 2025. This regulation took effect on August 8, 2025 and designates 30 InJourney Airports as capable of serving scheduled commercial flights on international routes.
According to Mohammad R. Pahlevi, the president director of InJourney Airports, said this policy further strengthens the role and position of InJourney Airports within the regional and global aviation ecosystem.
“The designation of 30 InJourney Airports as international airports will strengthen air connectivity and the role of airports as agents of development and value creators in relation to the equitable distribution of international flight services in Indonesia,” Pahlevi said in an official statement on Sunday, (08/24), 2025.
“We are optimistic that this policy will positively impact passenger traffic and international flights to and from Indonesia. This is expected to have a positive multiplier effect on growth in the tourism, industry, trade, and national and regional economic sectors,” he affirmed.
Meanwhile, InJourney Airports Operations Director, Agus Haryadi, stated that his team is focused on fulfilling the necessary documentation and infrastructure requirements at the airports.
“In addition to fulfilling the required documents, infrastructure, and facilities for international flight operations and services, we are coordinating with stakeholders, including the Immigration Office, Customs and Excise, and Quarantine,” Haryadi added.

The 30 InJourney airports designated as international airports according to Minister of Transportation Decree Number KM 37 of 2025 concerning the determination of international airports are as follows: (1) Sultan Iskandar Muda Airport in Banda Aceh; (2) Kualanamu Airport in Deli Serdang; (3) Minangkabau Airport in Padang; (4) Sultan Syarif Kasim II Airport in Pekanbaru; (5) Hang Nadim Airport in Batam; (6) Soekarno-Hatta Airport in Tangerang; (7) Halim Perdanakusuma Airport in Jakarta.

InJourney Airports’ Performance in 2024
Throughout 2024, InJourney Airports served 38 million international passengers and 224,000 international aircraft. Compared to 2023, international traffic experienced significant growth in 2024, with passenger movements growing by 22% and aircraft movements by 14%.
From January to July 2025, InJourney Airports served 23.3 million international passenger movements and 138,000 international aircraft movements. This represents a 10% increase in passenger movements and a 9% increase in aircraft movements compared to the same period last year. [IDN news/photo special]
