TIPS FOR CHOOSING THE RIGHT RESORT FOR YOUR END-OF YEAR VACATION

LAUREAN Sahilices, the Cluster Director of Marketing and Communications at Anantara Kihavah Maldives Villas, shared her advice on choosing the right resort.

She said that choosing a resort shouldn’t be rushed because each destination has different characteristics.

“The resort you choose will significantly impact your overall vacation experience. Therefore, it’s important to ensure the facilities, atmosphere, and activities offered meet your expectations,” she said in a statement on Saturday.

She explained that tourists should consider several aspects before making a decision. First is the type of activities offered by the resort. Some resorts emphasize marine activities, such as snorkeling and diving, while others focus on wellness, spas, or family-friendly programs with kids’ clubs.

Second is location and accessibility. If you’re vacationing on an island, resorts close to the international airport can usually be reached by speedboat. More distant resorts generally require an additional trip by seaplane, which offers a more visual experience but is more expensive.

Third is the type of accommodation. In the Maldives, for instance, tourists can choose from overwater villas, beach villas, or underwater suites depending on their preferences. Furthermore, consider the resort’s atmosphere, whether you prefer a private, tranquil setting or a lively atmosphere with social activities.

“Those traveling with family should ensure the resort offers child-friendly facilities. Meanwhile, honeymooners usually prefer private resorts,” Laurean added.

Besides facilities, culinary delights are also a consideration. According to Laurean, some tourists prefer formal dining experiences with international cuisine, while others prefer a relaxed atmosphere with casual dining.

With an increasing number of tropical destinations offering visas on arrival, such as the Maldives for Indonesian tourists, Laurean advises travelers to carefully choose resorts that match their personal needs for a more memorable vacation.

“The ideal vacation is when every moment meets the guest’s expectations, whether they’re seeking relaxation, adventure, or family bonding,” she concluded. [antaranews]
