THE RECENT escalation of political and security concerns has raised questions about the state of the Indonesian economy. A wave of demonstrations that led to riots occurred in Jakarta and several other regions, which are at risk of disrupting economic activities and investments.
The Chairperson of the Indonesian Exhibition Company Association (ASPERAPI), Hosea Andreas Runkat, expressed deep concern about the demonstrations that turned into riots from August 25 to 31, 2025.
ASPERAPI supports freedom of opinion, an integral part of democracy. The association also conveyed prayers and empathy to the deceased and injured.
ASPERAPI emphasized that the association stands with the people, community, government, and entire Indonesian nation. Although the exhibition industry has been greatly affected economically, the safety and well-being of the Indonesian people is paramount.
“We believe that the faster Indonesia becomes conducive and safe, the faster economic recovery can be realized, including for the exhibition industry,” said Hosea Andreas Raméliorant. Rarakat said in a recent statement in Jakarta. [traveltext.id/photo special]
