FOLLOWING its official opening in August this year, ARTOTEL Living World Kota Wisata, Cibubur is now fulfilling one of its primary commitments: providing a venue for art and creativity.
According to Dicky Panjaitan, General Manager of ARTOTEL Living World Kota Wisata Cibubur, has confirmed that this commitment has been realized through the inaugural art exhibition, entitled Kaleidoscope of Nature. The exhibition was officially opened on Saturday, November 10, 2023, at the ARTSPACE, which is located in the lobby area of ARTOTEL Living World Kota Wisata Cibubur.
“We are pleased to announce the inaugural step in our initiative to bring the spirit of art and culture to this area, as well as to establish closer relationships with the local community. This initiative is part of our vision for ARTOTEL Living World Kota Wisata, Cibubur. I described the community as “creative,” he said.
Meanwhile Windi Salomo, Art Director of ARTOTEL Group, provided insight into the theme of the art exhibition. She explained that the word “kaleidoscope” originates from ancient Greek, with “kalos” signifying beauty, “eidos” denoting shape or form, and “skopeo” implying to see or observe.
“The word ‘kaleidoscope’ literally means ‘observing beautiful forms.’ Inspired by this meaning, Kaleidoscope of Nature presents an interpretation of nature that is colorful, dynamic, and limitless,” Windi affirmed.
She explained that the exhibition displays 22 works by eight Indonesian artists, each of whom has a unique style and perspective on nature, namely Rahayu Retnaningrum, Ageng Marhaendhika, Bunga Yuridespita, Dikco Ayudya, Riski Januar, AT Sitompul, Tutu, and Juju. The exhibition will run until December 2025 and is open to the public.
“We are delighted to present this inaugural art exhibition, ‘Kaleidoscope of Nature.’ It is not merely an exhibition, but rather a celebration of local creativity and spirit, as part of a brand that consistently upholds the concept of art. We remain dedicated to supporting and collaborating with local Indonesian artists,” Windi concluded [traveltext.id].
