MINISTRY IN G20 EMPHASIZES PROMOTION OF A CULTURE OF FUTURE INVESTMENT

THE MINISTRY of Culture calls for protecting and promoting culture not just a matter of the past, but an investment for the future.

According to the Minister of Culture, Fadli Zon, said Indonesia believes that culture is the foundation for global solidarity, equality and sustainability. In the series of the G20 4th Cultural Working Group Meeting and G20 Culture Ministers Meeting at Zimbali Resort, Durban, KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa.

Fadli also highlighted the importance of ending the illicit trade in cultural objects through international cooperation and the use of digital technology to trace the origins of cultural objects. As well as the need to integrate cultural policies with national socio-economic strategies so that the cultural and creative economic sectors can become engines of inclusive growth.

The Republic of Indonesia delegation led by the Minister of Culture also contributed to the formulation and ratification of the KwaDukuza Ministerial Declaration, the final result of which became a joint reference for the G20 Ministers of Culture in strengthening the role of culture as a pillar of sustainable development and global solidarity.
