INDONESIAN DESIGNERS’ WILL ENLIVEN TOKYO MUSLIM FASHION FESTIVAL

SEVERAL Indonesian fashion designers are ready to grace the stage at the 2025 Tokyo Muslim Fashion Festival (TMFF). The event, which will take place on November 19, 2025, at Star Rise Tower, Jupiter Studio, Tokyo Tower Media Center, Minato-ku, Tokyo, Japan, carries the theme “Where Modesty Meets Global Elegance.”

As quoted in a press release from the festival organizers received in Jakarta on Saturday, TMFF 2025 features five Indonesian fashion labels that combine modern elegance with strong cultural roots. Among them, the IDP brand will present a collection featuring the richness of batik and figurative motifs typical of Central Sulawesi, such as the Liris flower and the Maleo bird.

“This is not just an opportunity to showcase, but also a space to introduce another side of Indonesian culture, particularly Central Sulawesi, to the international stage. This work reflects our tagline, The Sabangto Maraoke Ethnic: Spirit of Nusantara on Tokyo Runway,” said Idayanti Pandan and Nurisky Aprilia, IDP designers.

Then there’s the VYSESA collection, featuring a combination of satin pleats and cotton crinkle; the SASÉ brand presents a collection that embodies the philosophy of timeless elegance with effortless beauty; the PAWANG brand presents a collection that combines elements of tradition and culture; and the IKURO brand offers menswear that presents basic clothing with a modern, modest, and functional feel.

The Tokyo Muslim Fashion Festival is a fashion platform designed to showcase the work of Indonesian Muslim designers in Asia’s fashion hub. This event is expected to be a momentum to demonstrate that Indonesian modest fashion is not just about clothing, but also a global expression of value, beauty, and cultural identity.

TMFF 2025 will also be honored to appear at the Rolling Exhibition World Expo 2025 in Osaka, which will be held from September 22–28, 2025. [antaranews]
