PT ANGKASA Pura Indonesia (InJourney Airports) Soekarno-Hatta International Airport Branch, Tangerang, Banten, has begun making operational adjustments to four domestic route airlines to Terminal 1B as part of efforts to balance flight services at the largest airport in the country.
According to the General Manager of Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, Heru Karyadi said through a written statement received in Tangerang, Banten, Tuesday (11/18), 2025, the arrangement was carried out in stages starting from Monday (11/17), 2025, with the transfer of Lion Air and Airfast Indonesia airline operations to Terminal 1B for all domestic flights to and from Jakarta (CGK).
“Furthermore, this Tuesday, Sriwijaya Air and NAM Air will also start serving domestic flights via Terminal 1B. However, with this move, Terminal 1B will become a service zone for the four domestic airlines,” he said.
Heru explained, through this adjustment, the flow of passenger movements in Terminal 1 can be more organized according to the capacity of the available facilities, thereby supporting the smooth departure and arrival process.
“This adjustment effort is a series of strengthening the operational structure of Terminal 1 which previously began with the transfer of all Citilink domestic route operations to Terminal 1C on November 12 2025, along with the implementation of full operations of Terminal 1C,” he noted.
He added, with Terminal 1C fully operational, Terminal 1’s service capacity will increase, thereby enabling equal distribution of passengers through rebalancing between terminals. This operational arrangement was designed to ensure that flight passengers at Soetta Airport could gain new experiences in a more organized journey.
“The rebalancing of services at Terminal 1 is being carried out so that passenger movements can run more smoothly and the airline has more optimal operational space,” he affirmed.
According to him, service balance is part of our ongoing efforts to maintain service quality at Soekarno-Hatta Airport. Apart from that, the rebalancing of services at Terminal 1 is the result of intensive coordination carried out with all airlines and related parties to ensure a smooth transition period.
“We ensure that the entire transfer process runs safely, is coordinated, and is supported by officers in the field. We hope that passengers can experience a more comfortable experience and not experience confusion when heading to the departure terminal,” he continued.
As part of implementing this arrangement, Soekarno-Hatta Airport appealed to Lion Air, Airfast Indonesia, Sriwijaya Air and NAM Air passengers to confirm flight schedule and departure terminal information on tickets, airline applications and other official channels.
“Passengers are expected to arrive early and pay attention to signage and directions from officers in the terminal area to ensure the check-in and boarding process runs smoothly,” he concluded. [antaranews]
