THE INDONESIAN Ministry of Creative Economy received an honorary visit from the Australian Minister of Arts Anthony Stephen Burke at the Autograph Tower, Jakarta, Wednesday (28/1/2026). The Minister of Creative Economy emphasized that this collaboration is in line with the Indonesian Government’s efforts to make the creative economy the new engine of growth that is globally competitive and based on innovation.
“We direct this collaboration so that Indonesian creative economy actors can move up in class, connect with global markets and talent, and play a more active role in the international value chain,” he added.
The two ministers also discussed a number of strategic plans for the future, including preparation of the Australia Awards Indonesia short course program in the animation subsector, holding the 11th Australia–Indonesia Cinema Festival (FSAI), as well as Australia’s participation in the 2026 World Conference on Creative Economy (WCCE), where the Minister of Creative Economy specifically invited Minister Tony Burke to attend in Jakarta.
