INDONESIA PROMOTES #GOBEYONDORDINARY AT ITB BERLIN 2026

THE MINISTRY of Tourism of Indonesia is promoting the #GoBeyondOrdinary campaign at ITB Berlin 2026, the world’s largest, oldest, and most prestigious business-to-business (B2B) tourism exhibition.

The Minister of Tourism, Widiyanti Putri Wardhana, on Tuesday, (3/03), 2026 delivered remarks at the inauguration of the Indonesian Pavilion at the Berlin ExpoCenter, Messe Berlin. In her address, she highlighted the strategic choice of the theme #GoBeyondOrdinary, underscoring Indonesia’s position as a destination that offers not only scenic beauty but also delivers quality and value-added tourism experiences.

“The #GoBeyondOrdinary campaign is a reflection of the Ministry of Tourism’s flagship program, Quality Tourism, which emphasizes the creation of added value through the principles of inclusivity and sustainability,” stated Minister Widiyanti.

ITB Berlin 2026 is scheduled to take place from March 2–5, 2026. The Indonesian Pavilion, spanning 441 square meters in Hall 26, Booth No. 111, is one of the Indonesian pavilions with the largest number of industrial players participating over the last five years. The Indonesian Pavilion showcases five distinctive tourism packages, encompassing marine tourism, gastronomy, fitness, Indonesian literature, and Muslim-friendly tourism.

This year, the Ministry of Tourism is promoting Priority Tourism Destinations (DPP) and Regenerative Tourism Destinations (DPR) at ITB Berlin 2026. At the Indonesian Pavilion, these destinations are introduced through various immersive experience packages. These packages are designed to pique the interest of foreign tourists in adventure in Indonesia and to encourage them to purchase tour packages.

These initiatives align with the Ministry of Tourism’s flagship Quality Tourism program, emphasizing the commitment to excellence in the tourism sector. The event brought together over 91 representatives from various sectors of the tourism industry, including accommodation providers, Destination Management Companies (DMCs), travel agents, tour operators, tourist villages, and other tourism service providers.

“More than 91 business actors from 11 provinces were present, representing the diversity and strength of Indonesian tourism. The presence of ladies and gentlemen is clear proof that Indonesian tourism grows through collaboration, hard work, and mutual trust,” said Minister Widiyanti.

The Ministry of Tourism is leveraging the ITB Berlin event as a strategic platform to promote Muslim-friendly tourism packages, which are experiencing heightened demand from global tourists. ITB Berlin plays an important role in facilitating business opportunities, as it brings together buyers from Europe, the Middle East, Asia, and Africa.

“With its diversity of attractions, Indonesia offers tourism experiences that engage the senses and satisfy the desire for cultural immersion by interacting with local communities, rich culture, and authentic traditions in each destination,” added Minister Widiyanti.

The Ministry of Tourism has set ambitious targets for ITB Berlin 2026, aiming to generate 498,000 to 541,000 potential tourist transactions, equivalent to 12.9 to 14.3 trillion rupiah in potential foreign exchange earnings for the country. This target reflects a positive outlook on the potential for the tourism sector to contribute more significantly to national economic growth. [traveltext.id]
