THE MINISTRY of Tourism is striving to provide safe, comfortable, and enjoyable tourism activities during the 2026 Eid al-Fitr holiday.
The Minister of Tourism has issued a circular regarding the implementation of safe, comfortable, and enjoyable tourism activities during the Eid al-Fitr holiday of 1447 H/2026 AD to encourage relevant stakeholders to optimize services for tourists.
“The circular contains an appeal to regional governments, destination managers, and all parties to prepare destinations for the Eid al-Fitr period,” said Tourism Minister Widiyanti Putri Wardhana when contacted by ANTARA from Jakarta on Sunday.
According to her, the circular issuance aims to ensure the implementation of cleanliness, health, safety, and environmental sustainability protocols in accordance with risk-based tourism business standards as stipulated in Ministerial Regulation Number 6 of 2025.
In the circular, the Minister of Tourism directs regional governments to support the smooth running of tourism activities, encourage the implementation of standard operating procedures, ensure roadworthy transportation facilities, and coordinate with tourist attraction managers to provide rest areas for drivers.
Furthermore, the Minister of Tourism urged tourist destination managers to follow the technical guidelines for implementing risk management at tourism destinations.
Tourism destination managers are asked to identify disaster-prone tourist destinations and prepare early warning systems, mitigation facilities, evacuation routes, and evacuation signs.
Widiyanti stated that as of February 27, 2026, 35 provincial governments had completed the Disaster-Prone Tourist Destination Data.
The Disaster-Prone Tourist Destination Data covers 4,748 tourist attractions, consisting of 327 destinations with a high level of vulnerability, 1,570 destinations with a moderate level of vulnerability, 718 destinations with a low level of vulnerability, and 2,133 destinations with unidentified status.
Ahead of the Eid al-Fitr holiday, Ministry of Tourism officials inspected tourist destinations to ensure that managers had prepared facilities and services to handle the increase in tourist visits. [traveltext.id]
