SINGAPORE Airlines (SIA) announced the cancellation of several flights from Singapore to Dubai until April 30, 2026. This decision was taken due to the unstable geopolitical situation in the Middle East.
As reported by Asia One, the airline explained that the two flights directly affected are SQ494 from Singapore to Dubai and SQ495 from Dubai to Singapore.
“The cancellations are being made in consideration of the security situation in the region, which remains dynamic,” said a Singapore Airlines representative.
SIA also warned that the evolving situation could potentially impact other flight schedules.
“As the situation continues to change, it is possible that other flights may also be affected,” the statement continued, urging passengers to regularly check their flight status through official channels.
This action follows a number of flight cancellations that have been implemented since the conflict between the United States, Israel, and Iran escalated at the end of February.
Previously, flight operations were expected to return to normal by the end of March, but the current situation has forced the airline to take further action.
For affected passengers, SIA is offering several options, including a full refund for unused tickets or rescheduling to an alternative flight.
Passengers who booked through a travel agent or partner airline are advised to contact the relevant parties for further assistance. Singapore Airlines also apologizes to all customers for any inconvenience caused by this cancellation. [sources/photo special]
