PASSENGER MOVEMENTS AT 37 AIRPORTS INCREASED BY 5% IN THE FIRST QUARTER 2026

PT ANGKASA Pura Indonesia (InJourney Airports) recorded a total of 38.20 million passenger movements at its 37 airports in the first quarter of 2026, an increase of approximately 5% compared to 36.38 million in the same period the previous year.

According to InJourney Airports President Director Mohammad R. Pahlevi, in a statement in Jakarta on Saturday, (04/11), 2026 during the first three months of this year, the number of domestic passengers reached 28.38 million, and international passengers reached 9.82 million.

“Total aircraft movements also increased by 8.7%, from 275,782 flights to 299,759 flights. This increase in flight traffic is in line with the growing demand for flights during the Christmas and New Year holidays in January 2026, as well as the Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijri holiday season in March 2026,” he said.

He stated that InJourney Airports can accommodate the increased demand for air travel during the peak season in January 2026 and March 2026 through strong collaboration with all airport stakeholders.

“We are grateful for the support of all parties, so that InJourney Airports can generally serve passengers well and smoothly during these busy periods,” said Pahlevi.

During both peak seasons, all airports managed by InJourney Airports are on 24-hour standby to meet airline needs, ensuring flight availability and maximizing flight slot utilization.

“The increase in passenger and flight numbers is also driven by the opening of new flight routes at various airports, a manifestation of the close collaboration between InJourney Airports and airlines,” he noted.

He also stated that his company is collaborating with various parties to strengthen flight connectivity in Indonesia by opening new routes, both domestic and international.

“This is InJourney Airports’ effort to fulfill its role as an agent of development and value creator to contribute to national economic growth,” he affirmed

The five busiest airports in the first three months of this year were Soekarno-Hatta Airport in Tangerang (13.48 million passengers), I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport in Bali (5.34 million passengers), Juanda Airport in Surabaya (3.21 million passengers), Sultan Hasanuddin Airport in Makassar (2.34 million passengers), and Kualanamu Airport in Deli Serdang (1.80 million passengers).

In the second quarter of 2026, Pahlevi continued, airports managed by InJourney Airports will focus on serving prospective Hajj pilgrims during the Hajj transportation period and during school holidays.

InJourney Airports is committed to continuously improving services and facilities at all airports through a continuous transformation, which is also being implemented this year in aspects such as world-class infrastructure and facilities (premises), airport staff with world-class service (people), and ecosystem-based airport operations (processes).

“And of course, relying on technology as an enabler,” Pahlevi concluded. [sources/photo special]
