ASCOTT-MATALESOGE COLLABORATES ON GLOBAL ACCESSIBILITY AWARENESS

TO COMMEMORATE Ascott’s three-decade journey in Indonesia, where it has been a part of the lives of people throughout the country, the Ascott Sustainability program, “Ascott Cares,” is holding Global Accessibility Awareness Day in collaboration with the MATALESOGE Hospitality Academy on May 13, 2026, at Citadines Antarsari Jakarta.

In her opening speech for Global Accessibility Awareness Day, Ms. Ari Suciana, General Manager of Citadines Antarsari Jakarta, said, we are grateful to Ascott Indonesia for entrusting us at Citadines Antarsari as the venue for this year’s Ascott Sustainability Program, in collaboration with the MATALESOGE hospitABLElity Academy.

“Collaborating with the MATALESOGE hospitABLElity Academy is new for us, especially as it relates to inclusivity and is consistent with the hotel’s ongoing transformation, particularly with regard to individuals with special needs. We are honored to have the opportunity to host this event,” she said.

She added that the Ascott-MATALESOGE collaboration, through the inclusivity and disability program today, aims to encourage direct interaction through housekeeping and F&B training, emphasizing that hospitality is not just about service but also about empathy, opportunity, and acceptance.

“We hope this collaborative event, especially for Ascott Group Indonesia, will serve as a reminder and inspiration for all of us, especially for Ascott Group, about the meaning of sincerity, passion, and courage to grow together. We are very fortunate to be able to learn and share moments with our friends from the MATALESOGE hospitABLElity Academy,” Ms. Ari Suciana affirmed.

She explained that Ascott is in the final stages of completing a playbook related to inclusivity and activities across the Ascott group by the end of the year. At least one property will implement this inclusivity program. Then, in 2027, they will participate in disability awareness training, and in 2028, all digital platforms interacting with guests are expected to meet international activity standards for comfortable and accessible use.

“In this event is expected to open up more opportunities to create an inclusive environment and equal experiences for every individual,” she pointed out.

Meanwhile, Tommy Hermanses, Founder/CEO of MATALESOGE hospitABLElity Academy, added that empowerment is a pure value that must be transmitted through forums and communities that share the same humanitarian vision. Any individual, community, or institution that cares about inclusivity will always join hands to provide equal opportunities.

“At MATALESOGE hospitABLElity Academy, we believe that differences should not be a barrier to development. We provide guidance and encourage children to develop their talents through programs at our training center,” he noted.

He elaborated that with this event, we hope that more institutions will care about and understand the world of inclusivity. Thank you to Ascott Group and Citadines Antasari Jakarta for giving us this opportunity and in the future, we hope we can fulfill Ascott Sustainability programs, I hope this hotel will also be a pioneer in the hotel industry in strengthening this program.

“This collaboration aims to create equal opportunities and boost the self-confidence of people with special needs. Through this program, they will be able to discover and maximize their skills in the hospitality industry,” he concluded.

The event was also enlivened by the appearance of the music performance of ‘MATA Squad’, interactive role plays activities and lunch together and MATALESOGE hospitABLElity Academy gave a souvenir to Citadines Antasari Jakarta, a joint work painting from the trainees. [traveltext.id]
