ARCHIPELAGO Hotels, the largest private hotel management group in Indonesia and Southeast Asia, continues to expand its presence in various destinations in line with the growth of the Indonesian tourism sector.
Data shows that international tourist arrivals reached 6.07 million visits in January–May 2026, a 7.68% increase compared to the same period the previous year. This growth was also driven by the Southeast Asian market, which recorded an 11.06% increase. In line with the increase in tourism activity, the accommodation and food and beverage sector also recorded growth of 13.14% in early 2026.
This growth reflects the increasingly diverse needs of travelers for accommodation in various destinations, whether for business trips, MICE (Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises), family vacations, leisure, or transit.
According to John Flood, Chief Executive Officer of Archipelago Hotels, said to address these needs, Archipelago Hotels is presenting five properties in five strategic destinations: Aston Cimone Hotel & Convention Center in Tangerang, Aston Malang Hotel & Conference Center in Malang City, Nawana by Alana in Sentul City, Bogor Regency, fave+ Hotel Lampung in Bandar Lampung, and fave+ Hotel Pamanukan in Subang Regency. These five properties comprise two new openings and three rebrandings, strengthening Archipelago Hotels’ presence in various markets across Java and Sumatra.
“These five properties reflect diverse market segments and needs, ranging from practical 3-star hotels for business travelers, families, and travelers traveling via transit, to business hotels in city centers, to premium convention hotels with large capacity and 4-star sanctuary resorts,” he said.
He explained that with the distinct character of each destination, this portfolio allows Archipelago Hotels to provide accommodation options that are more relevant to travelers’ needs while supporting the growth of business, MICE, and leisure activities in each market.
“The growth of the tourism and accommodation sectors demonstrates the growing need for quality hotel options that are relevant to the character of each destination. For Archipelago Hotels, this presents both an opportunity and a responsibility to provide accommodation solutions that meet the increasingly diverse market needs,” he affirmed.
However, when asked about the property concept, John Flood immediately replied that each of our properties is designed with an approach tailored to the characteristics of the destination and its target guests, whether for business and MICE travel, family vacations, leisure, or transit travel needs.
“We want to ensure that Archipelago Hotels’ presence can provide the right accommodation options while supporting tourism growth and economic activity in every destination where we operate,” John Flood concluded. [traveltext.id]
