PT MRT Jakarta stated that the construction cost of Phase 2A of the North-South Line is IDR25.3 trillion, funded by a cooperative loan between the Indonesian and Japanese governments.
“This phase was built at a cost of approximately IDR 25.3 trillion, funded by a cooperative loan between the Indonesian and Japanese governments,” said Rendy Primartantyo, Corporate Secretary Division Head of PT MRT Jakarta (Perseroda), in Jakarta on Thursday (08/13), 2026.
Phase 2A of the North-South Line will connect Bundaran HI Station to Kota Station, spanning approximately 5.8 kilometers and consisting of seven underground stations: Thamrin, Monas, Harmoni, Sawah Besar, Mangga Besar, Glodok, and Kota.
Phase 2A is divided into two segments: segment one, Bundaran HI-Harmoni, targeted for completion by the end of 2027, and segment two, Harmoni-Kota, targeted for completion by the end of 2029.
The development of Phase 2A of the North-South Line continues to show significant progress. As of July 25, 2026, construction had reached 62.68% of the target of 61.92%.
“In the CP201 contract package, construction has reached 93.90 percent of the target of 93.89%,” said Rendy.
At Thamrin Station, the construction team has entered the work phase, including reinstatement of the pedestrian area around the station site, reconstruction of the Transjakarta Integrated Bus Stop, mechanical, electrical, plumbing (MEP) installation, roofing work, and finishing of Entres 5, 7, and 8.
At Monas Station, the construction team continues to complete interior and access work on Entre 2, reinstatement of the north side station box, and the system acceptance test and partial acceptance test.
Significant progress has also been made in the CP202 contract package, which includes the construction of the tunnel and stations in Harmoni, Sawah Besar, and Mangga Besar, which has now reached 68.00% completion.
Completion of the contract package, a milestone in civil construction in Indonesia, with a tunnel and a four-story underground station, continues to accelerate.
As of July 2026, tunnel boring machine 1 had penetrated the south side of Mangga Besar Station, connecting the northbound tunnel from Bundaran HI to Kota.
Contract package CP203 has reached 86.85% progress, with work at Kota and Glodok Stations, such as pipe and cable installation, plastering, painting, and installation of ACP wall panels, as well as other architectural work, still ongoing. [antaranews]
