PT BUKIT Uluwatu Villa Tbk (BUVA) is expanding its business into the entertainment and lifestyle sectors in Bali. This move is being executed through investments in PT Kharisma Jawara Abadi (KJA) and PT Kharisma Anugerah Jawara Abadi (KAJA Group).
Through this initiative, BUVA holds an indirect stake in KAJA Group. The group operates entertainment and lifestyle businesses with a diverse portfolio, including Zumana—a destination on the coast of Kuta, Bali, recently launched in partnership with Savaya Group.
Currently, BUVA records its investment in KJA as an associate entity with an effective ownership of 16.27%. Meanwhile, KJA holds a 58.36% stake in KAJA.
BUVA states that the investment aligns with its strategy to expand exposure to assets in the entertainment, food and beverage, and lifestyle sectors in Indonesia. The company focuses primarily on destinations that hold strong appeal for international tourists.
Satrio, CEO of Bukit Uluwatu Villa, noted that the investment in KJA provides BUVA with exposure to an Indonesian hospitality platform that develops and engages in lifestyle destinations featuring unique concepts.
“The launch of Zumana demonstrates the potential of combining a strong local platform with internationally recognized operators, designers, and creative partners,” Satrio said in a recent statement.
KAJA Group officially opened Zumana on August 19, 2026, at Sunset Bay, Kuta, Bali. The entertainment and lifestyle destination integrates music, art, culinary experiences, architecture, and entertainment.
Zumana occupies a site of approximately 3,500 square meters and was designed by the Rockwell Group. The concept combines daytime beachfront activities, culinary offerings, a pool area, and live music performances with nightlife entertainment. The arrival of Zumana further boosts Kuta’s development as a premier tourism destination in Bali.
BUVA envisions Indonesia’s tourism, entertainment, and lifestyle sectors evolving beyond traditional accommodation businesses. Management sees opportunities in destinations that integrate hotels, restaurants, beach clubs, entertainment, wellness, culture, and lifestyle experiences. [katadata/special photo]
