According to the Deputy for Tourism Products and the Organization of Activities (Event), Rizki Handayani, at the opening of the event, Wednesday (5/13) said, this activity was one of the efforts of Kemenparekraf in preparing superior human resources by increasing the professional capacity of the MICE industry in Indonesia in the New Normal era.

“This is the first time in the history of the holding of professional competency-based training in the fields of Meetings, Incentives, Conventions, Exhibitions (MICE) conducted online and in its national scope,” Rizki Handayani said.

She affirmed that in the event which was supported by MICE Indonesia’s Professional Certification Institute (LSP), 76 participants were declared to have passed the selection of 663 registrants. This shows the high enthusiasm of the MICE actors to improve their capacity.

Later the participants will get material from speakers who are competent in their fields. Among them were the Head Lecturer, Lecturer and Senior Researcher in MICE-Jakarta State Polytechnic Christina L. Rudatin, MICE Senior Industry Practitioner Wisnu Budi Sulaeman, CEO-PT. Laksmindo Bahtera Convex who is also an Adjat Sudrajat MICE Assessor, and others.

This training is a debriefing that aims to provide guidance on competency units in each cluster as a competency measure for participants if they will later take the certification test.

“Through this training it is hoped that it can increase the capacity of Indonesian MICE industry players who are globally competitive and prepare themselves as MICE industry players in the new normal era,” she noted.

After the venue management event cluster, online training will also continue for other clusters namely event logistics, marketing communication events, event registration, liaison officer events, destination bidding, and stand building.

“Hopefully this training can run successfully and provide great benefits to participants who are MICE Indonesia’s industry players,” Rizki Handayani concluded. [traveltext.id]
