THE number of domestic flight air passengers in August 2020 has again increased, after June and July also experienced an increase in the number of flights.
According to the Head of the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) Suhariyanto, said the increase looks stable and this is encouraging. From BPS records, the number of air transport passengers in the reporting month was 1.99 million people. This is up 36.23% mom from July 2020 which amounted to 1.46 million passengers.
“When compared with August 2019, which amounted to 6.72 million passengers, the number of passengers in August this year still subsided by 70.43% yoy. Meanwhile, the number of international flight passengers in August 2020 has also increased on a monthly basis,” he said.
He added, in August 2020, the number of international flight passengers was 30 thousand visitors. However, when compared to August 2019, this number is still much lower or decreased by 98.14% yoy. [antaranews/ photo]
