‘YOUR SMILE TRAVELS A THOUSAND MILES’ FROM MARRIOTT INTERNATIONAL

MARRIOTT International Asia-Pacific today launched the “Your Smile Travels A Thousand Miles” campaign to celebrate the resilience of staff and guests in facing this year and encourage smiles behind masks in sharing a positive spirit and solidarity.

According to Craig Smith, Group President and Managing Director, Asia-Pacific, Marriott International said the campaign also featured two artworks created by Singaporean artist collective Ripple Root inspired by the 3,000 smiling faces and heartwarming stories of Marriott International staff and guests who collected during the campaign.

“In a year that has had a profound impact on the tourism, health and livelihoods of the people who work in this industry, we would like to acknowledge the persistence, resilience and positive spirit of the staff, guests and communities at 800 hotels in Asia Pacific,” he said.

Craig Smith explained that I am very proud of our staff who have had a challenging year and never stop smiling. We also remain positive and look forward to welcoming our guests during the holiday season and the upcoming new year.

“Featured in the first online auction, Sotheby’s, Marriott International encourages new artistic talent from Ripple Root to inspire people across Asia Pacific with the magic of travel and look forward to the new year when things start to heal. Ripple Root is synonymous with bold colors, patterned strokes and playful patterns that have produced cheerful works that exude youthful energy and simple kindness,” he noted.

Meanwhile, Liquan Liew and Estella Ng, Ripple Root artists said we were very inspired by the smiling faces and the touching stories we saw and heard. Everyone has gone through this unprecedented year in a different way. Seeing how staff and guests find ways to smile has really touched our hearts.

“Through art, we hope to convey the same feelings of hope and warmth, and inspire everyone to stay positive and have hope for the next year,” said Liquan Liew.

From now to 6 January 2021, guests and tourists can see the original artwork at the JW Marriott Hotel Singapore South Beach. The artwork will also be digitally exhibited at select Marriott International hotels in Asia Pacific. [traveltext.id]
