THE Chairman of the Indonesian People’s Consultative Assembly (MPR), Bambang Soesatyo, invited the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy to develop an automotive sport event combined with a tourist attraction or sports automotive tourism in Indonesia.
“I believe that sports automotive tourism will be able to attract domestic and foreign tourists to come to Indonesia and after the pandemic is expected to be one of the driving forces for the tourism sector in Indonesia,” Bambang Soesatyo said.
He explained that the Indonesian Motor Association (IMI) and the Ministry of Tourism agreed to work together to develop sport automotive tourism in Indonesia. I believe that Indonesia can become one of the icons of sport and automotive tourism in the world because it has extraordinary natural and cultural wealth.
“For the initial stage, IMI and the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy would take advantage of the MXGP 2021 international automotive championship to combine tourism and automotive sports. MXGP 2021 is planned to open in Oman on April 3, 2021 and end in Argentina on November 14, 2021 and Indonesia will get two series, namely on July 4 and July 11, 2021,” he noted
Bambang added that on July 4, 2021, the MXGP is planned to be held in the area of the Borobudur Temple, Central Java and on July 11, 2021, the plan will be implemented in Bali. We all know that in Central Java and Bali there are many very beautiful tourist destinations to visit.
According to Bambang, the Ministry of Tourism also agreed to develop a creative economic area for modification of two-wheeled and four-wheeled vehicles involving thousands of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). This is because Indonesian modified products are very popular with national and international consumers.
“To realize sport automative tourism in the midst of a pandemic, all parties must prepare themselves as well as possible,” said the Chairman of the MPR, Bambang Soesatyo.
Therefore, according to him, it is necessary to carry out well the CHSE-based tourism health protocol (Cleanliness, Health, Safety, Environmental sustainability) which is what tourists need in the era of adapting to new habits. [antaranews/photo special]
