COVID-19 PANDEMIC, HOTELS IN JAKARTA ARE SOLD IN THE NUMBER OF MARKETPLACES

THE corona pandemic continues to suppress the economy and business, many businessmen are bankrupt. One of them is in the hotel sector, entrepreneurs are forced to sell hotels in Jakarta through a number of marketplaces.

One of the hotels sold is the Goodrich Hotel in Jalan Antasari, South Jakarta, at a price of IDR26.8 billion. Hotel Goodrich was sold by Ogi Nugraha’s account at OLX on January 25, 2021. In addition, the Hotel Ibis Budget Jakarta, Tanah Abang, Central Jakarta, was sold for IDR85 billion. Hotel Ibis Budjet Jakarta was sold by Aldila Aspan account on February 1, 2021.

Then, the Le Meridien Hotel on Jalan Jenderal Sudirman, Central Jakarta, was sold for IDR2.7 trillion by the Best Properties Indonesia account at OLX. Advertising for the sale of Hotel Le Meridien is also available in several other marketplaces. There are also a number of other hotels that are sold through the marketplace.

When confirmed, the Chairman of the Indonesian Hotel and Restaurant Association (PHRI) Jakarta Sutrisno said that the phenomenon of selling hotels did occur in Jakarta. The phenomenon of selling hotels is exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Selling the hotel before the COVID-19 pandemic already existed. As a result of the pandemic, more hotels are selling. If you look at the many online advertisements, there are already many in Jakarta,” Sutrisno said.

According to Sutrisno, the sale of hotels in Jakarta during the COVID-19 pandemic was carried out in order to avoid losses. The reason is, hotel operating costs and credit payments are applied. If you are late in paying credit, the fines will accumulate. So it must be sold, unless an investor wants to close the instalments first. The more days if the credit is not paid, it will accumulate.

Sutrisno said hotel owners would bleed if they continued their hotel business if they were unable to pay credit instalments. The choice to sell the hotel is better taken than to lose money.

Sutrisno could not say how many hotels were sold during the COVID-19 pandemic. PHRI Jakarta had not yet recorded the exact number of hotels sold due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. [kontan.co.id/photo special]
