THE tourism industry association which is incorporated under the umbrella of the Indonesian Tourism Industry Association (GIPI) carried out a “Declaration on the Mobile Tourism Industry and the Fight against COVID-19”.
This declaration is the joint aspiration of tourism industry associations to carry out and supervise strict and disciplined health protocols in realizing tourism and the creative economy as a driving force for community economic activity, through the development of domestic tourism in a systematic, structured and measured manner.
According to the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Sandiaga Uno, said I welcomed the movement made by the industry to unite to revive the tourism sector and the creative economy. Where there are more than 30 million people who depend on the tourism sector and the creative economy.
“Today we are very happy that the industry in the tourism sector has declared that it will move against COVID-19. Of course this requires support for our compliance and discipline to implement health protocols. So I thank you for the initiative and we are ready to collaborate,” said Sandiaga Uno after attending the declaration which took place at the Soesilo Soedarman Hall, Sapta Pesona Building, Monday (19/4).
Sandiaga explained, in addition to implementing strict and disciplined health protocols, this commitment will also be realized by preparing tourist destinations that meet the elements of cleanliness, health, security and environmental sustainability (CHSE).
“Finally, with this commitment, it is hoped that it can create quality and sustainable tourism. That is the real commitment of all of us here. The hope is that in concrete terms tourism will be of higher quality because during this pandemic it becomes an opportunity for us to improve. rose to support the tourism sector and the creative economy,” Sandiaga underlined.
Meanwhile, the General Chairperson of GIPI, Didien Junaedy, said that this declaration is also an umbrella for the tourism industry in implementing innovation, adaptation and collaboration strategies that will determine Indonesia’s future tourism.
“The effort to generate Indonesian tourism opens an opportunity or momentum to carry out collaboration between industry and the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy which will focus on the domestic tourism trade system,” Didien Junaedy noted.
