INDONESIA’S Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy encourages the development of the Singosari Special Economic Zone (SEZ) to be focused and concentrated on the creative economy sector which is expected to be able to open the widest possible opportunities and jobs.
According to the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Sandiaga Uno when visiting the Singosari SEZ, in Malang Regency, East Java, Saturday (22/5) said that the Singosari KEK was the first tourism SEZ that was specifically focused and concentrated on the creative economy sector. Our hope is that this SEZ will also be able to bring increased skills, upskilling and reskilling for millennials, opening the widest possible job opportunities and as much as possible.
Sandiaga Uno believes that the Singosari SEZ with an investment target of IDR1 trillion in 2023-2024 can be realized through coordination between all tourism stakeholders and the local government.
In order to realize the investment target, Sandiaga Uno will coordinate with the Minister of Investment, Bahlil Lahadalia, to accelerate the acceleration. The goal is that investment can immediately create business opportunities and open jobs for people in the Singosari SEZ area in the future.
“The Ministry of Tourism together with local governments and a number of State-Owned Enterprises are planning a number of activities in the Singosari SEZ. And through activities including digital training and distribution of financing, he hopes that the spirit of tourism & creative economy business players will continue to adapt and innovate,” he said.
He explained, there are two initial steps that I will take, the first is to accelerate, therefore we will coordinate with the Investment Acceleration Task Force headed by the Minister of Investment. The second is a roadshow that we will initiate in the second half of this year by preparing an Investments Memo so that we can do job opening immediately.
Meanwhile, the Deputy Governor of East Java, Emil Elestianto Dardak appreciated the presence and support of Menparekraf Sandiaga Uno to advance and support the recovery of the tourism sector and creative economy in East Java.
Emil said, the East Java Provincial Government is working hard to accelerate the development of the Singosari SEZ. Moreover, the tourism area is listed in Presidential Regulation Number 80 regarding the acceleration of development, the Singosari SEZ which is expected to absorb a lot of workforce in the future.
“The provincial government plans to develop an animation industry class. Animators and games and film players will also soon occupy the digital studio where the groundbreaking has been done,” Emil Dardak concluded. [traveltext.id]
