THE Labuan Bajo Authority Implementing Body (BPOLBF) noted that the number of tourists visiting Labuan Bajo has decreased by 83% during 2020 from 2019 which reached 256,171 people. In 2019 the number of tourists reached 156,171 people, but in 2020 it only reached 44,543 people.
According to BPOLBF President Director Shana Fatina in Kupang, Tuesday (1/6) this was conveyed related to the promotion of Labuan Bajo tourism through the contemporary Animal Pop Komodo dance at the MRT Jakarta HI Roundabout as well as the #rindulabuanbajo campaign. many visited the area and not only knew that Labuan Bajo was not only a commodity tour.
Shana also added that the Animal Pop Komodo dance in the context of the #rindulabuanbajo campaign is also expected to encourage the dissemination of information related to tourism potential and the creative economy in Labuan Bajo Flores.
“Essentially with the hashtag #rindulabuanbajo, we want to introduce to the wider community that Labuan Bajo is not only Komodo, but ‘beyond that’ there is a tourist village, creative economic products, and interesting culinary. So Labuan Bajo is indeed for all (groups) and if you want to get quality tourism experience come to Labuan Bajo,” Shana Fatina said.
In addition to encouraging Labuan Bajo as the location of the event, as well as supporting the Proudly Made Indonesia campaign for Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) Labuan Bajo Flores products.
In addition, Shana said that #rindulabuanbajo is campaigned to promote the name Labuan Bajo so that it is always remembered as a tourist destination that must be visited after tourism activities have recovered.
