THE Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy appreciates the implementation of the Borobudur series of sports tourism activities “Hidup Sehat #BarengCitilink #DiIndonesiaAja” series.

According to the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Sandiaga Uno said it was not only a form of organizing event activities with the application of strict and disciplined health protocols, but also reinvigorating the tourism and creative economy {parekraf) sectors at the Borobudur Super Priority Destination (SPD) with innovation, adaptation, and collaboration. which brings enthusiasm and new job opportunities so as to provide welfare for the community.

Minister Sandiaga Uno participated in the “Hidup Sehat #BarengCitilink #DiIndonesiaAja” series Borobudur in the form of cycling activities as far as 54.83 kilometers, Saturday (6/5). The activity starts from the starting point at the Hyatt Hotel Jogja, along the village streets in Borobudur with beautiful views dominated by green rice fields and the friendliness of the community.

The route that is passed also includes various tourist destinations around Yogyakarta and Magelang such as Borobudur Temple, Bibis and three Village Economic Centers, namely Candirejo Tourism Village, Karangrejo Tourism Village, Tuksongo Tourism Village, and finish at Manohara Borobudur.

All series of activities that were attended by 100 participants were carried out with the implementation of strict and disciplined health protocols. Starting from the antigen test, wearing masks, washing hands, releasing bicycle platoons in stages, as well as disinfecting all event locations.

“Today we are launching the second series of Hidup Sehat (healthy living) activities #DiIndonesiaAja #BersamaCitilink which of course is part of our activities that combine tourism and sports (sport tourism), healthy lifestyles and also recreational sports,” said Sandiaga after arriving at the finish line.

He explained, “Hidup Sehat #BarengCitilink #DiIndonesiaAja” Borobudur series is the second in a series of activities that will take place in 5 super priority destinations. After Borobudur, activities will take place in Lake Toba, Likupang, and Labuan Bajo.

“This is a new trend for our tourism which is open nature and also sports. This activity is a major part of the recovery of tourism and the creative economy. Not only do we exercise, travel, but also raise creative economic products, especially Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) such as medals (finishers) which are the work of economic actors creative things that will lift our spirits,” Sandiaga stated.

This activity, he continued, is a form of innovation that presents a new travel pattern for tourists by preparing a package of sports and tourism activities. It is carried out with full adaptation by implementing strict and disciplined health protocols, as well as collaboration that involves many parties.

“So this event is very beneficial not only in terms of health but also to revive the economy. If there are 12 MSMEs involved and 10 people each working, it means that there are 120 jobs that will benefit from this event,” Sandiaga noted.

Meanwhile, President Director of PT Citilink Indonesia, Juliandra, said this activity was specifically also part of supporting the Proudly Made in Indonesia National Movement (Gernas BBI) by cooperating with 12 local creative economy Small Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in Yogyakarta and its surroundings. Also lift and promote village tourism.

“As many as 12 MSMEs, including offering local products and handicrafts typical of Yogyakarta. These include leather, metal, batik, accessories, and culinary arts such as bakpia and wingko. With collaboration between sectors between air transportation, tourism, and also small and medium businesses, it is hoped that they will be able to contribute to moving the regional economy back affected by the COVID-19 pandemic,” Juliandra added.

Citilink, he said was committed to fully supporting the government’s programs, including in improving the community’s economic activity in the tourism and creative economy sectors.
