UBUD Artisan Market (UAM) is the latest initiative of the Mudra Swari Saraswati Foundation, a non-profit foundation that houses the Ubud Writers & Readers Festival, Ubud Food Festival, and KEMBALI 2020: A Rebuild Bali Festival.
This event will be held on two weekends every month on Jl. Raya Sanggingan, Ubud, with a mission to support Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Bali and create new opportunities for them to continue to grow.
On Saturday-Sunday, 12-13 June 2021, 13.00-21.00 WITA, UAM has presented 76 MSME players from Ubud, Denpasar, and surrounding areas. The vendors sell a variety of products, from food, beverages, crafts, fashion, weaving, jewelry, and more.
In addition, UAM presents creative workshops to enrich the skills and creativity of visitors, such as workshops on making crafts from plastic waste, making organic soap, painting with canvas, and learning to read tarot cards.
There are also inspiring interactive programs, such as discussions about processing plastic waste into crafts with PGRI Mahadewa Indonesia University and cooking demonstrations with Chef Krisna from Warung Di Teba. To enliven the event, UAM provided a stage for local talents with live music, karaoke, and Balinese dance performances.
In collaboration with an NGO from the Netherlands, Programma Uitzending Managers (PUM), the Mudra Swari Saraswati Foundation also provides free webinar programs on business, marketing, and entrepreneurship for vendors.
Marketing, Sales and Entrepreneurship expert from the Netherlands, Rob Van Loon, guides vendors to develop their respective businesses more efficiently. This program is a form of appreciation and support from the Foundation to MSME actors who are part of the UAM community. The webinars will be held online on June 17 and July 8, 2021.
All UAM events follow the health regulations that have been implemented by the government, including wearing masks and providing hand washing facilities in various locations. The next Ubud Artisan Market will be held on Saturday-Sunday, 3-4 July 2021, at 13.00-21.00 WITA at Taman Baca, Jl Raya Sanggingan Ubud. [traveltext.id]
