THE ‘Work from Bali’ (WFB) program is considered to have a positive impact not only on tourism in the Island of the Gods, but also in surrounding areas such as Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara.
According to the Lombok Tourism Polytechnic Lecturer, Komang Mahawira, who is also an auditor for Clean, Healthy Safety and Environment (CHSE), said the program will help attract tourists to come so that tourism can recover. In early June, Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga Uno said it was possible the program would also be implemented in other tourist destinations such as Lombok.
“Government programs help, including Work from Bali, the Minister of Tourism also encourages that, even apart from Bali, it really helps tourists to come, activities will be more and more, and indirectly promote that Lombok is safe, the proof is that the government can work there,” he said.
Komang was met on the sidelines of the discussion ‘Optimizing Digital Marketing to Revive Tourism Industry & Socialization of the CHSE Certification Program’ in Lombok, recently.
He assessed that there had been a revival of tourism in Lombok where many people spent time on staycations, but the larger portion of the people staying in hotels there was the government holding meetings or meetings.
Meanwhile East Indonesia Area Manager, tiket.com, Rajasa Hadisoemarto said that the Work From Bali program has not really been felt evenly because it has just started. I predict the effect of the WFB program will be felt next month. WFB will probably peak in July as the restrictions are still in place.
“I agree that the Work From Bali program will affect the Lombok area in the future. He believes, when the program is running well on the island of Bali, its success will also spread to Lombok. It will probably be good, but wait for (WFB performance) in Bali to go up first,” he noted.
Tourism business players in Lombok are currently undergoing the process of obtaining CHSE certification in order to provide a sense of security and comfort for tourists. So far, said Komang Komang Mahawira, who is the CHSE auditor, there have been more than 100 CHSE certificates given by the local tourism office to business players in West Nusa Tenggara. This process takes about a month if there are no problems.
“The absence of guests is also one of the obstacles, because the assessor must see evidence of how the implementation of health protocols for tourism players when serving guests. Instead, there is a simulation that allows the assessor to assess whether the business player is worthy of getting CHSE certification. If it is feasible, it is definitely recommended,” he concluded.
