PHRI: HOTELS WITH CHSE STANDARDS ARE NOW MORE ATTRACTIVE TO TOURISTS

TOURISTS are more interested in visiting tourist attractions, hotels and restaurants that already have a CHSE certificate to feel safer and more comfortable.

The government has implemented health protocols based on Cleanliness, Health, Safety, and Environment Sustainability (CHSE) for tourism and creative economy actors which include tourist attractions, hotels, restaurants, public toilets, selling souvenirs and others.

According to the Chairperson of Indonesian Hotel and Restaurant Association (PHRI), Hariyadi Sukamdani said this certificate will greatly affect hotel sales. Now this is the first consideration for choosing hotels and tourist destinations.

“Yes, of course. Tourists feel more confident, that’s very influential, the impact is big. For example, in Medan, which is crowded, even five-star hotels are more expensive, but they believe more that they will implement CHSE correctly,” said Hariyadi

The same thing was conveyed by the General Chairperson of the Indonesian Travel Agent Association (ASTINDO), Pauline Suharno, who said that travel agents are more confident in selling products if their partners already have CHSE standards. On average, consumers always ask about the implementation of CHSE in the destination they are going to.

“With the CHSE standard, we become more comfortable selling (tourism products) and clients also feel more comfortable,” Pauline noted.

Pauline explained that the reason Bali became the most visited destination during the COVID-19 pandemic. According to him, most hotels in Bali have implemented the CHSE standard. In Bali they are more comfortable and on average they have met the CHSE standard, so they are more comfortable.

“Now if the vacation is more for the nuclear family, for the Balinese family they are more chosen because there are beaches, open air, even if only in hotels, hotels in Bali are more comfortable for staycations,” she concluded. [antaranews/photo special
