THE PROVINCIAL Government of West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) has made Kuta Village, Central Lombok a pilot digital village. Kuta Village has a strategic position because it is part of the Mandalika Special Economic Zone (SEZ).
According to the Head of the Central Lombok Communication and Information Office, M. Zarkasi, explained that the digital village was prepared to be a forum for the younger generation in Kuta village to take part in advancing the village.
“This digital village will facilitate public services, promote tourism in Kuta village, and promote MSME products. We want the younger generation to take part in advancing Kuta village,” said Zarkasi.
He added that the development of a digital village, the NTB Provincial Government will involve PT. Telkom in providing the required software and hardware. As for human resources, we will recruit from Kuta village to be trained as digital village operators.
“West Nusa Tenggara already has a digital village in the Peresak neighborhood, Pagutan village, Mataram, which is better known as the media village. The digital village maximizes the use of information technology in all sectors, from public services to product marketing,” he concluded. [antaranews/photo special]
