PPKM JAVA-BALI CONTINUED UNTIL OCT 18, THE LEVEL 3 AREA INCREASED

The Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment as well as the Java-Bali PPKM Coordinator, Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan in a press conference monitored online from Jakarta, Monday, revealed that areas with level 3 status had increased from 84 districts/cities to 107 districts/cities because they had not been able to meet the target. vaccination. Meanwhile, there are 20 districts/cities that remain at level 2.

“So, the vaccination achievements that we added as criteria last week have not been achieved, so they have dropped their levels,” he explained.

Luhut revealed that the Jabodetabek agglomeration area has not yet succeeded in lowering the level because Bogor, Tangerang and Bekasi districts have not yet reached the vaccination target.

“The Jabodetabek agglomeration has not gone down because in Bogor, Tangerang and Bekasi regencies there are still a shortage of level 3 vaccinations so we will carry out a task force for this. So, there are 2 million vaccines that we will inject in the next weeks. After this we will finalize it. regarding its implementation,” he added.

Meanwhile, the agglomeration areas of Semarang Raya and Solo Raya are now at level 2. As for Magelang, Bandung Raya, Malang Raya and Greater Surabaya, although they have met the WHO indicator requirements regarding level reduction, vaccination coverage has not yet reached the target for lowering the level so it remains is at level 3.

“There are 3 non-agglomerated regencies/cities that can go down to level 2, namely Cirebon, Banjar and Madiun,” he said.

Previously, the government included indicators of vaccination coverage in evaluating the reduction in PPKM levels in Java and Bali. The total coverage of dose 1 vaccination must reach 50% and the elderly vaccination coverage must reach 40% as an additional requirement to be able to go down from level 3 to level 2.

Furthermore, dose 1 vaccination coverage must reach 70% and elderly vaccination coverage must reach 60% as an additional requirement to be able to go down from level 2 to level 1.

Luhut added that this requirement is considered to be able to significantly increase the speed of vaccination for the elderly in Java-Bali. And the levels change greatly by vaccination, especially for the elderly. [antaranews]
