THE CENTRAL Jakarta District Court granted PT Garuda Indonesia Tbk.’s demand for Postponement of Debt Payment Obligations (PDPO) by PT Mitra Buana Koorporindo (MBK) as the creditor.
President Director of Garuda Indonesia, Irfan Setiaputra, confirmed that the company’s operations will not change due to the PDPO status.
“No operations have changed, so we ensure that the company’s operations, flight operations, our commitment to passengers, will continue as we have been doing, apart from this PDPO,” said Irfan, Thursday (12/09).
He continued; this state-owned airline will continue to make improvements. He hopes that after this agreement is reached, Garuda Indonesia will be in a much better position, much healthier.
“We want to convince all creditors and the public that after this restructuring process, Garuda will ensure that it becomes a company that is able to generate profits,” he remarked.
Meanwhile, Garuda Indonesia Finance Director Prasetyo said, Garuda will support the continuity of the airline’s operations with full consideration, while navigating the current dynamic situation, which is still under pressure.
However, Prasetyo is optimistic that market conditions will continue to improve, as seen at the beginning of the fourth quarter of 2021, the increase in the number of passengers in December, and the possibility of easing restrictions on travel around the world.
“These things add to our reason for being optimistic about improving financial achievements,” he concluded. [antaranews/photo special]
