WITH #AyoKeTemanggung, a special hashtag from tourism activists who seeks to invite tourists to visit Temanggung, which has been known as a tobacco-producing area.
Not only known as a producer of tobacco, Temanggung arguably has abundant natural tourism potential. The reason is, Temanggung is flanked by 4 mountains that are popular for climbers namely Sindoro, Sumbing, Merbabu and Telomoyo.
According to Ambar Setyawati, tourism activists said, #AyoKeTemanggung is a way to enjoy tourist destinations in Temanggung in a day or One Day Tour starting from the center of Temanggung City, to the highlands.
“This time the One Day Tour #AyoKeTemanggung introduces tourist destinations; Pikatan Water Park which is located in the city center, Kampung Mbako is in Tlilir Village, at the foot of Mount Sumbing, Embung Kledung and the Posong tourist area on the slopes of Mount Sindoro,” said Ambar.
Together with travel agency groups and associations, our tourism is invited to take a closer look at these 4 destinations. Each of these destinations has different characteristics and complements each other.
Pikatan Water Park
This water park with an area of 4.5 hectares and located in Mudal Village, Temanggung District, Temanggung Regency, Central Java, is a destination managed by Regional-Owned Enterprises (BUMD).
Its location is in the middle of the city of Temanggung, so tourists from outside the city are easy to find destinations that are mostly visited by families. Pikatan Water Park, which is located at an altitude of 500 meters above sea level, is ready to welcome guests back with the adaptation of health protocols.
In addition to being suitable for outbound, Pikatan Water Park is equipped with game facilities such as water slides, flying fox, national standard swimming pool, freshwater fish cultivation area, entertainment stage, restaurants and others. The entrance ticket to this destination is Rp. 15 thousand.
Mbako Tlilir Village
This village is located at the foot of Mount Sindoro or precisely in Tlilir Village, Tlogomulyo District, Temanggung Regency. Even though it is located at an altitude of 1,700 meters above sea level, the air temperature is not as extreme as in the Dieng plains.
Visiting Mbako Tlilir Village, tourists will find the typical hospitality of the residents of the foot of the mountain who are polite and serve. In this village, tourists can learn many things about tobacco, and can even see Srintil tobacco which cannot be grown in all areas in Temanggung. And this Srintil tobacco is a characteristic of Tlilir Village.
The most memorable thing is, tourists can live in at Kampung Mbako. The real Homestay concept is that you mingle with the owner of the house, then talk a lot about the arts and culture and traditions of tobacco, with tobacco rolling as his trademark.
Embung Kledung
This destination, which is located in the West Temanggung area and is an area that borders Wonosobo Regency, is worth visiting.
This destination that is suitable to be enjoyed with the family is expected to be the entrance for tourists from the west side. When the weather is clear, the background of this Embung (Artificial Lake) is Mount Sindoro and Sumbing.
The dam or artificial lake that serves as a rainwater reservoir was built from a former tobacco plantation with an area of 83 x 83 meters. In this reservoir there are large freshwater fish. The entry ticket price is only IDR10,000 per visit.
Posong
Like the universe approves. Nature Posong is so beautiful. As tourists, you will feel “intimidated” by the valor of Mount Sindoro and Sumbing. Imagine, Posong is right on the center axis of these 2 mountains.
Even from the viewing post, tourists can see 7 mountains at once; Sindoro, Sumbing, Merapi, Merbabu, Telomoyo, Prau and Ungaran. The average temperature during the day is between 10-15 degrees. Need a thick jacket to keep the body warm.
Posong is located at an altitude of 1800 meters above sea level. This area also offers complete tour packages ranging from packages that use glamping with a capacity of 7 people, as well as domes or tents with a capacity of between 3-4 people. The manager only charges a tariff of IDR20,000 for tourists once entering.
Ambar added that this one-day tour wanted to convey that Temanggung is ready to receive tourist visits and is expected to be able to raise the number of visits that had fallen freely due to the COVID-19 pandemic. [traveltext.id]
