JETBLUE CANCELS 1,280 FLIGHT SCHEDULES DUE TO CABIN CREWS EXPOSED TO OMICRON

JETBLUE Airline decided to reduce its flight schedule in January 2022, as many crew members were exposed to the new variant of Omicron COVID-19. Quoting from the Reuters website on Saturday (1/1), JetBlue Airways reduced 1,280 flights in January 2022 because many cabin crew were exposed to Omicron.

This was done by JetBlue Airways, because they were understaffed which required them to reduce their flight schedules during January 2022. Not only did Omicron make JetBlue Airways reduce its flight schedule, but bad weather in the United States was also the reason they reduced flight schedules.

Data from FlightAware also shows, as of Saturday (1/1) there were at least more than a thousand planes that had canceled flights due to bad weather. A JetBlue Airways spokeswoman said bad weather and the Omicron infection had forced the company to cancel a number of flights throughout January 2022.

“We are still monitoring conditions on the ground, and Omicron’s exposure continues, and there may be additional flight cancellations until positive cases of COVID-19 begin to decline,” said a JetBlue spokesman.

Positive cases of COVID-19 in the United States alone have touched a record high in recent days, reaching 258,312 cases in the last seven days. [sources/photo special]
