A TOTAL of 9,579 foreign nationals entered Indonesia through Soekarno-Hatta (Soetta) International Airport, Tangerang City, for the period 1-12 January 2022.
According to the Head of Information and Communication Technology of Immigration at Soekarno Hatta Airport, Habiburrahman said, thousands of foreigners have come to Indonesia as Foreign Travel Actors (PPLN) from various countries. The PPLN is dominated by countries from Asia, namely Japan and China.
“There were 1,102 people from Japan who entered Indonesia, 994 people from China, 944 people from India, 783 from South Korea, and 561 people from the United States,” Habiburrahman said as quoted from a press release, Wednesday (1/12).
He explained that during that period, we also recorded that there were 24,812 Indonesian citizens who returned to Indonesia. Thus, in total, there were 34,391 people from abroad who entered Indonesia at the beginning of this year, both foreigners and Indonesian citizens.
“People who passed through Soekarno-Hatta Airport in the same period, there were 6,783 foreigners and 21,573 Indonesian citizens leaving Indonesia. Of this figure, 1,552 people flew to China, 607 people went to Japan, and 474 people went to South Korea. Meanwhile, 467 people went to India, and 355 people went to neighboring countries, namely Malaysia,” he noted.
He added, it means that if counted, there are 28,356 Indonesian citizens and foreigners who leave Indonesia after the 2022 new year. If all of them came and went in total, it means that there were 62,747 people who arrived and also departed from Soekarno-Hatta airport after the new year. [antaranews/photo special]
