THE NETHERLANDS-based online travel agency, Booking.com, has released a list of the most welcoming cities on earth or the ‘Most Welcoming Cities on Earth for 2022’. Nusa Lembongan is in the top 10, at number 8.
The website states, this year 10 tourist destinations have been chosen because they consistently provide exceptional hospitality, as evidenced by more than 232 million verified reviews from tourists who visit this online travel agent.
One of the tourism players in Nusa Lembongan, I Ketut Astawan, Friday (1/28) responded positively to this. According to him, when tourists were crowded before the pandemic hit, people used to mingle with tourists as well as tourists who used to talk to each other on the street.
“You don’t have to be able to speak a foreign language, just sign a nod or smile to be an unforgettable thing for us, we miss all of that again,” he explained.
Mentioned on the site, to feel the paradise of an island, Nusa Lembongan is the place. “This island has long been loved by surfers for its stunning waves and relaxed rhythm of life, its crystal-clear turquoise sea is a definite attraction for any traveler visiting this part of the world.”
Snorkeling and kayaking experiences are a great way to fully appreciate the beauty of the island and its waters. A relatively short drive from Bali, Nusa Lembongan has a lot to offer without the crowds – picture-perfect beaches, exotic cuisine and rich local culture that will impress even the most seasoned traveler.
Meanwhile, the Regent of Klungkung, I Nyoman Suwirta, said that during the current pandemic situation, visits had declined considerably. However, in this situation, various arrangements for tourism facilities continue to be pursued, starting from the arrangement in the Batu Belek area, then in Ceningan, and other important arrangements. “So, when tourists are crowded again later, there will be a new, better nuance here,” he said.
