AIRASIA REACTIVATES THE KUALA LUMPUR ROUTE TO SURABAYA AND BALI

AIRASIA will reactivate two international routes, namely Kuala Lumpur-Bali roundtrip from 21 March 2022 and Kuala Lumpur-Surabaya roundtrip starting 25 March 2022.

These two routes will add AirAsia’s scheduled international flight services between Indonesia and Malaysia to three routes, including the Jakarta-Kuala Lumpur PP route which has been operating so far.

The Kuala Lumpur-Bali and Bali-Kuala Lumpur routes start operating on March 21 with a frequency of three times a week until March 31. Meanwhile, during April, the flight frequency is 7 times a week.

The Kuala Lumpur route to Surabaya and vice versa operates seven times a week, the same as the Kuala Lumpur to Jakarta route and Jakarta to Kuala Lumpur.

AirAsia Indonesia President Director Veranita Yosephine said the AirAsia Airline Group welcomed the government’s announcement to ease the requirements for travelers who have been fully vaccinated by reducing the quarantine period to Indonesia and implementing a visa on arrival for visits to Bali.

“We will immediately follow up on this decision by re-opening scheduled flight services for two international routes at once, namely Bali and Surabaya, which had previously been stopped,” Veranita said as quoted from an official broadcast on Wednesday.

He added that his party had made various preparations in order to normalize flight services between Indonesia and Malaysia, especially in welcoming the quarantine release plan by the governments of the two countries starting in April 2022.

“We hope that these two routes will be the beginning of the reactivation of more other international routes in the future, not only Indonesia-Malaysia but also with other countries.”

The airline is pleased to be able to re-fly all the fleets, so that they can maximize support for the revival of tourism and the economic recovery of the community in the destination area and return to their role as the carrier of the most foreign tourists to Indonesia. [antaranews/photo special]
