INDONESIA-Singapore discussed the importance of strengthening digital connectivity cooperation to digitizing creative economy Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) between the two countries. This collaboration was held when the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Sandiaga Uno, met the Minister of Communication and Information of Singapore, Josephine Teo.
Minister Sandiaga Uno during his working visit to Singapore met with Josephine Teo at the Ritz Carlton Hotel Singapore, Wednesday (6/1), as well as expressed his gratitude to Minister Teo for being invited to the Asia Tech x Singapore (ATxSG) 2022 forum and discussing the potential of the Metaverse. for the tourism sector and the creative economy.
According to Sandiaga Uno, this meeting discussed the importance of connectivity, especially during the G20 and I also promoted Indonesia’s tourism destinations with 5 quality tourism destinations as well as the need to be supported by good connectivity infrastructure.
The meeting also discussed the handling of the COVID-19 pandemic in which the Singaporean Government highly appreciated Indonesia’s efforts to stabilize conditions in the midst of the pandemic, especially in relation to the mobilization of domestic tourists.
“This is the time to start the engine and we focus on developing quality and sustainable tourism, we also continue to build digital skills for HR so that there is an increase in upskilling and reskilling in digital skills,” said Sandiaga.
Meanwhile, Minister Josephine Teo said Indonesia is an important player and a big country in Southeast Asia. I am going to Indonesia to attend the G20 side event of AVPN, wellness tourism, WCCE, and WTD.
