THE STABILITY of the tourism sector after the pandemic and global challenges can be achieved with collaboration from related parties in the ecosystem.
According to the Main Director of PT Indonesia Tourism Development or Indonesia Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC) Ari Respati in Jakarta, Wednesday (12/14) said, the biggest challenge in recent times is the moment when the conditions are among the worst and bringing it back is not easy, because tourism people affected. In 2020, one by one (tourism actors) are starting to lose guests, employees are also forced to make efficiencies.
“The first thing to do is to create stability, and that stability will not work if it is not assisted by collaboration,” he said.
Furthermore, Ari said that his party as a BUMN developer and manager of tourism areas in Indonesia is trying to create stability by opening its doors to various parties.
Not only with tourism actors and the government, ITDC also invites banks to digital platforms to revive tourist destinations that have been affected by the pandemic.
“For example the Bali Collection, which used to be the economic axis of Nusa Dua. To revive, collaboration in reviving tourism is real,” Ari remarked.
For Ari, tourism produces connectivity. Tourism connects with guests, owners or investors, employees, local communities and governments.
“Talking about ‘rising’ is not just a matter of ‘bounce back.’ If there is no connectivity from these parties, then (progress) will not occur. Everything has to be linked and balanced,” he added.
Ari continued, ITDC which oversees Nusa Dua, Bali; Mandalika, West Nusa Tenggara, and Tana Mori, Labuan Bajo have now been involved with a number of international events such as the G20 Presidency, Mandalika MotoGP, and Mandalika World Superbike (WSBK).
“The main thing is to open up with whoever it is. And the most important thing is that the people around it (tourist destinations) also feel the impact of this collaboration. We continue to strive for events for a sustainable economy and the impact is felt,” he concluded. [antaranews]
