AIRPORT operator Dubai Airports announced on Monday (12/12) that Dubai International (DXB) won Airport of the Year at the 2022 Aviation Business Awards. DXB was selected as the winner in the busiest airport category based on “unrivaled performance” over the past year.
The airport welcomed 28 million passengers during the first half of 2022. This figure is almost triple the volume during the same period last year. DXB is also improving the quality of its services, ensuring a seamless travel experience for passengers at all of its touch points.
Dubai Airports CEO Paul Griffiths accepted the award at a ceremony held in Dubai last week. Quoted from Arabian Business, Dubai Airport raised its annual forecast for passenger traffic on DXB to 64.3 million.
Average monthly traffic exceeded 6 million until the third quarter of 2022. The airport recorded 18.5 million passengers, reaching pre-pandemic levels since 2020. [sources/photo special]
