CHINA’S largest electric vehicle manufacturer, BYD, has successfully created an electric supercar that performs like an F1 racing car. Collaborating with Yang Wang, BYD’s premium electric vehicle division, BYD introduced a supercar named YangWang U9.
Unlike the previous series, the U9 supercar is claimed to have the most superior performance when compared to competitors’ electric cars. Even though in terms of dimensions this supercar is still below Lamborghini or Ferrari, the U9 supercar can accelerate from 0 to 100 km per hour in just 2 seconds.
Not many details were leaked by BYD regarding the technological specifications carried by the U9 in its release yesterday. However, according to information circulating, BYD will embed a dynamo with Yisifang technology with a power of 4 electric motors.
The appearance of the YangWang U9 supercar is similar to an F1 racing car, where BYD makes this two-door car look sporty and very futuristic by embedding a very large C-shaped LED headlamp on the nose of the car.
BYD also added ventilation on the fender, uniquely the ventilation on the u9 car was made more prominent. Meanwhile, at the back of the car, BYD designed the U9’s appearance with transparent fins and a massive diffuser sticking out of the rear glass.
This look gives the u9 the illusion of looking like a Lamborghini engine cover. In order to create a two-tone feel, BYD also provides bright black and yellow accents next to the side air intakes.
With this super ability, BYD sets a selling price for the U9 at a fairly affordable price when compared to the Lamborghini supercar, which is US$145,340 or around IDR2.2 billion assuming an exchange rate of IDR15,544. [sources/photo special]
