INAUGURAL SPORTEL ASIA EXHIBITION TO BE HELD IN BALI 23-24 FEBRUARY 2023

SPORTEL, the world’s sports broadcasting industry exhibition, will be held from February 23 to February 24 at the Grand Hyatt Nusa Dua, Bali. Indonesia is hosting the first Sportel Rendez-vous, after a four-year absence in the Asian market which was last held in 2019 in Macau and Singapore.

According to Sportel CEO, Monaco Laurent Puons, in an online statement on Friday (01/27) said SPORTEL Rendez-vouz 2023 in Bali will focus on markets in the Asia-Pacific, where organizers are determined to provide all visitors with equal opportunities in advancing their respective businesses.

“There will be major European and American companies present to develop new business opportunities, network and make deals through this event. Such as the Bundesliga, Dorna Sports, FIFA, IOC, La Liga, Serie A, NBA, and many more,” he said.

Topics covered, he continued, include the big picture of Asia, where international soccer properties, motorsports, and new trends in sports technology for OTT, streaming, FAST channels, cloud, esports, and more will be discussed.

“We bring a lot of topics related to sports and its business network to this event. The Bali event will open up new opportunities for networking in Asia and the world, as there will be a lot of participants,” Laurent Puons.

Meanwhile, President Director of PT Indonusa Telemedia, which is also an International Sportel Monaco partner, Peter F. Gontha said that in addition to being an international sports exhibition and meeting place, Sportel also offers visitors the opportunity to reconnect and conduct business with key sports business leaders from the Asia-Pacific (APAC) market.

“The Asian market is considered to have great potential in the sports broadcasting industry. Apart from having a large population, Asians also love to watch sports. Some of them are soccer, basketball, and tennis. “Sports is the future of public viewing, especially in Indonesia. This shift is an opportunity for broadcasters to broadcast it in Asia,” said Peter F. Gontha.

He hopes that the Sportel Event in Bali can bring in broadcasting entrepreneurs and sports organizers both from within the country and abroad. Indonesia since the last few years has successfully organized major international events such as Moto GP. Formula E, G20, APEC, IMF, Asian Games, and Sea Games. Seeing this, said Peter, it is appropriate for Indonesia to be a concern for world-class event organizers.

“If we look at the data, the APAC market is growing rapidly with total OTT revenue of US$49.2 billion by 2022 and sports media revenue is predicted to continue to grow by 6% in the next 5 years,” he said.

To make the event a success, Sportel has designed a program to increase the visibility of the many exhibition and sponsorship options that will be available. The layout of the available booths has also been arranged and customized in one spacious ballroom to maximize traffic and the networking & business opportunities that will occur.

“In addition, major European and American companies will also be present to develop new business opportunities, network and make deals at the event. These include the Bundesliga, Dorna Sports, FIFA, Formula E, International Olympic Committee, LaLiga, Series A, NBA, Spanish Basketball League, Mediapro, and PGA Tour,” Peter F. Gontha added.

He concluded, as for the famous speakers at SPORTEL Rendez-vouz such as: (1). Alex ARROYO, Head of Media Rights, DORNA SPORTS (MOTOGP), (2). Tom BROOM, SVP, Co-Head of Media APAC, IMG, (3). Adam HOWARTH, Head of Content Acquisition, FOX SPORTS, (4). Henri KAMERLING, Managing Director Football, Rugby and Global Partnerships, PITCH INTERNATIONAL, (5).
